Julia Hekimian
Class of 2019

My name is Julia Hekimian. I am a rising junior at Phoenix Country Day School. I am determined to succeed both academically and extracurricularly in anything I am able to.

I have attended the Junior National Young Leadership Conference for two years. Both last and this year I have taken on the challenge of learning Chinese, and extensively am participating in a Kung Fu class. In addition to this, I have joined a new Women’s Empowerment club this year.

I am extremely passionate about learning and working with technology, whether it is video editing, coding, or other such computer science topics. I hope to continue with this field in college.

I’m very excited to work with our Nigerian partners and assist them in whatever way we can.

Jeffrey Kendig
Class of 2019

My name is Jeffrey Kendig, and I am a rising junior. I live in Nashville, TN, and I go to Goodpasture Christian School. I love playing soccer and being in my school’s band.

I am also in many more extracurricular activities; one of which is painting. I am also the Vice President of my class and am in the National Junior Honor Society. I have also gone on a mission trip to the City of Children, Mexico. I love math and aspire to be an programmer or engineer one day.

I am very glad that I have the opportunity to work with Leadership Initiatives and with the businesses in Nigeria. I hope that I can make a difference in the lives of many people not only in Nigeria, but in the whole world.

Cameron Pinkelton

My name is Cameron Pinkelton and I am a rising junior in high school. I have lived in North Carolina my entire life and enjoy the wide range of opportunities to explore the natural world that this state offers. I am an Eagle Scout and have always enjoyed spending time outdoors, hiking and camping. Academically, I am especially interested in the fields of math and science. My goal professionally is to be a physician. I will most likely major in biology, biochemistry, or chemistry in college.
